High dusting is the one that gets skipped
Vents, ledges and light fittings collect dust that never touches a desk or a floor, so a cleaning pass that only wipes surfaces at eye level misses it entirely. It shows up in the air rather than on anything you can point to, which is exactly why it gets left off a lot of cleaning routines.
High dusting is part of the office cleaning scope here, on the same visit as the rest of the room rather than scheduled separately.

Workstations, desks and shared kitchens
Computer workstations, desks and worktops are the surfaces people actually touch all day, and they are cleaned as part of the same visit as the floors and the windows. Staff rooms and shared kitchens get the same attention, since those are the spaces a whole office uses and nobody individually owns.
Retail counters, bank branches, church offices and law offices all have their own version of the same problem, a shared surface that everyone uses and nobody is responsible for keeping clean.
Chapter 03
The small maintenance that is not cleaning
Switching a light bulb or fixing a section of wall is not cleaning work in the strict sense, and most cleaning contracts refuse to touch it. It gets handled here as part of general office maintenance, because a building that looks clean but has a dead light over the reception desk still looks unmanaged.
It is a small thing on its own, and it is the kind of small thing that otherwise sits on a facilities manager's list for months.
Carpet and glass are on the same visit
Office cleaning here includes carpet maintenance and window cleaning rather than treating them as separate services quoted on their own. A room with clean glass and a carpet that has not been touched, or the other way around, still reads as half finished.
Covering both on the same visit is why offices, retail stores, warehouses, banks, churches and law offices are handled as one contract rather than a list of separate bookings.
